Frequently Asked Questions

What Type of Weather Conditions Will Cause Game Cancellations?
Games will be played in most all weather conditions. Lightning is one weather condition which will force the suspension or cancellation of games. If the fields become unsafe due to an excessive accumulation of water, games may also be cancelled. On rare occasions in the past, games have been cancelled due to accumulations of snow. Game cancellations will be posted on the "Field Information" page of the website. Coaches are told to check the website and then contact individual players. The decision to cancel games is usually not made until early in the morning of the day of the game, and not the night before. This is due to the fact that our fields drain water extremely well and are usually playable except under the most extreme conditions.

Do you have a Waiting List for those who missed Registration?
Yes. You may place your child on the Waiting List before both the Fall and Spring seasons. Placements will be made on a first-come, first-served basis, depending upon available openings in our teams. Being placed on the Wait List does not guarantee that your child will be placed on a team. Placing your child on the Wait List is NOT a registration. If your child is selected from the Wait List, you will been given the information required to register that child on our web site.

Does CLSF have a high school age division for boys?
Yes, there is a spring recreational league. The league consists of 6-8 teams made up of boys in grades 9 through 12. All of the games are played at Lippold Park on Sundays.

How do I become a referee for the CLSF?
You must be at least 12 years of age before the start of the season and you must attend the referee classes, which are offered once in the fall and once in the spring. The classes are conducted by the McHenry County Soccer Referee Association. The dates of the classes are posted on our website. Please look to the left for the Referee link. What is your Refund Policy?
All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing. Refund requests are subject to a $10.00 administrative fee, however requests for refunds received after a child has been rostered on a team will be subject to a $50.00 penalty. Recreational teams are usually formed, and players placed on a team roster, by the end of July. Competitive teams are usually selected by July 1, but final team rosters may be determined sooner. Players who elect not to play during the Spring season will not be entitled to a refund. No refunds will be issued for the fundraising options after August 1.
